Below is an outline of the fortnightly written activities we would like your child to complete at home over the course of this half term. The idea is that you spend roughly 2.5 hours over a two week period on the activities. Approximately 2 ½ -3 sides of A4 should be a reasonable amount of work (additional photos and images may be attached to the writing). Please send each project page into school by the appropriate date, stuck into your child’s homework book (where applicable)

Task

Thursday 25th May

Upon completion of the SATs, we will be creating flour babies that will need to cared for and looked after. You will need to be looking after them 24/7 and as a result, you are to write a diary detailing the ups and downs of taking care of a flour baby.

What are the difficulties? Who do you get to watch your flour baby when you can't? How are you finding the experience each day?

It can be word processed and a maximum 12 font. Ensure that you have an entry for each day. Each day should be around a 1/ 4 of a page.

Below you will find the spellings the children will need to know for year 6. The children will be tested every Friday and we will be going through the spelling rules of each week as well. Their grammar IXL homework is also displayed below.
Commas should aim to achieve a minimum score of 60 out of a 100, Capital Letters should aim to achieve a minimum score of 70 out of 100 and Full Stops should aim to score a minimum of 80 out of 100. If you complete the tasks quite quickly then feel free to practice some of the other units that you are not as confident with.
REMEMBER if you are on IXL for more than 45 mins and still haven't met the minimum score then take a break and do it another day. If you STILL have difficulty, then come and see me when you are next in school.
