Links with Greenwich University
At Christ Church we recognise the importance of forming effective and meaningful partnerships with other educational institutions and feel that we have a special relationship with Greenwich University. We see the university as 'our local' university and want our pupils to be familiar with what is on offer at the university as well as other projects that they can become involved in.
In July 2017, we were recognised for our 'outstanding contribution made with the Greenwich Primary Partnership'. This is something that we are very proud of.
Teacher Training and other Student Support
At Christ Church, we regularly support student teachers who are looking to build a career in teaching. We have always been impressed with the standard of students that the school has worked with from Greenwich University and continue to work in partnership them. This link has also supported the school when we have needed to recruit new teachers.
Year 5 Aspiration Project
Our Year 5 Pupils take part in a three-week 'aspiration' project at the university each year. The pupils link up with students and design 'higher order' presentations around different areas of learning. This gives the pupil's access to a lecture style learning experience and they are then asked to present this learning to their families at the end of the project. Most importantly, this project gives our pupils an indication of what university life is like so that can think about their own aspirations. All pupils graduate at the end of the project.
