Modern Foreign Languages at
Christ Church
At Christ Church, children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) learn the French language. They engage in fun, interactive French lessons each week and this enables them to develop their modern foreign language skills in an exciting and purposeful way, preparing them for their next steps in life as a global citizen.
At Christ Church, we use a programme called Rigolo to teach French
Rigolo
The documents linked below, show how Rigolo matches to the National Curriculum.

We raise the profile of French throughout the school at our annual French day.
On French Day, we have celebrated with French food, French art, French dancing, French songs and lots of speaking and listening activities. Every class is included from Reception to Year 6. Students from Eltham Hill secondary school come in to support classes and native French speaking parents and carers come in to read stories to the children in French. At the end of the day, the children share what they have learned in a celebration worship which all parents and carers are invited to attend.
